Spellings to Offer Advice on Streamlining Student Aid

While President-elect Barack Obama was busy figuring out whom he wants to lead the Education Department, the job's current occupant was offering up advice.

Education Secretary Margaret Spellings, addressing a department-sponsored financial-aid conference last week, said she planned "within the next few weeks" to submit recommendations for streamlining the federal student-aid process.
