Southern U. Suspends Its President
Southern University's governing board has placed the system's president, Ralph Slaughter, on paid suspension for two months while officials there investigate allegations that the board's former chairman sexually harassed female employees.
The Board of Supervisors ordered Mr. Slaughter to step aside until July 5 and to cooperate with an internal investigation of the handling of complaints against the former chairman, Johnny G. Anderson. Mr. Anderson, a top aide to Louisiana's governor,
