What hath Chris Dussold wrought? The assistant professor of finance at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville was fired in 2004 for plagiarizing in a two-page teaching statement submitted as part of his tenure-review package. Mr. Dussold, who is suing the university, and a group of friends and colleagues then set out to prove that he was singled out and treated unfairly, and that even top administrators at Southern Illinois were guilty of plagiarism.
