Southern Cal Loses Bid to Reverse Ruling on Companies' Lost Profits
The California Supreme Court has rejected a plea from the University of Southern California and others in higher education to shield institutions from being held liable for a company's lost profits as a result of a university's delays and errors in a clinical trial paid for by the company.
Southern California had hoped that the Supreme Court would consider the case and reverse a ruling by a state appeals court, which said that a company, Sargon Enterprises, was entitled to seek damages
