South Korea Declines to Renew Contract of an American University President
The Board of Trustees of South Korea's most prestigious research university decided unanimously last month not to renew the contract of its beleaguered American president, who had been under fierce attack from faculty members and administrators.
Robert B. Laughlin was hired two years ago by the Ministry of Science and Technology, which oversees the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, as the first non-Korean president of a national university. His contract is to expire
