South Korea Considers Allowing Colleges to Hire Academics on Contract Basis
South Korea is considering changes in its higher-education laws that would allow colleges and universities to hire faculty members on a contract basis starting in 2002.
The provision is among many changes proposed by the Ministry of Education. The National Assembly will consider the recommendations before its current session adjourns in mid-December.
