South Africa Plans to Reduce Number of Education Colleges From 76 to 20
The South African government, as part of a plan to modernize its higher-education system and make it more efficient, will reduce the number of colleges of education from 76 to about 20.
As a result of the consolidation, a few of the remaining colleges will become independent higher-education institutions, but most will become divisions of existing universities and technical institutes.
