Sorority Fees Are Among College Costs to Be Covered by Child-Support Payments, Iowa Court Rules

Divorced parents with students in college may be required to pay extracurricular expenses as part of their child-support obligations, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled this month.

With its ruling the court settled a dispute between two divorced parents who had agreed to share the responsibility for financing the college educations of their three daughters but had then disagreed over what expenses should be considered under that agreement.
