You were convinced that this was your year. You had been duking it out with the job market for some time now, but when you saw your dream job listed this past fall, you really felt like this was it. So after working diligently on your cover letter and CV and tailoring the information to fit what the department seemed to be looking for, you sent your application in and, sure
