Danish police officers today arrested seven activists who had dumped more than 400 pounds of cooked spaghetti and tomato sauce on the steps of the Finance Ministry in Copenhagen, to protest plans to cut government grants for students, the Associated Press reported. The protesters said the student-aid cuts were designed to push students to graduate sooner. The current stipend is about $810 per month. It’s unclear from the AP report how student-aid cuts are related to spaghetti and tomato sauce—or whether the impromptu smorgasbord drew any takers.
