Some Adjuncts at Western Michigan U. Win Right to Tenure
In a move that the American Association of University Professors called "a historic breakthrough," a group of full-time adjunct faculty members at Western Michigan University has won the right to become eligible for tenure.
The administration and the faculty union agreed in September to a contract that gives the employees, who have worked full time but have remained on continuing contracts, the benefits of regular faculty members. These employees now have the right to earn tenure and
