As Richard A. Yanikoski built his career, he built a book collection too. He had amassed about 3,000 titles on higher education by the time he decided to retire from his job as president of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities. And with retirement coming this summer, it was time to sell.
Mr. Yanikoski hoped to find a single buyer, mostly for simplicity's sake. And after an article about the books
