Sociologists Group Says Program to Raise Student Diversity Is Enjoying Success
Officials of the American Sociological Association say an eight-year-long program has increased the number of minority students getting undergraduate degrees in the field through a set of changes in curriculum and institutional attitudes.
A report on the program showed that improved diversity can be attained without quotas, the association said.
