Sociological Association to Start 'Plain Speaking' Journal for Non-Academics; 'Camera Obscura' Moves From Indiana U. Press to Duke

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

For years, Claude S. Fischer has been bothered that sociological research is ignored or misconstrued. Now he's in a position to do something about it: The American Sociological Association has named him the editor of a new journal for "general perspectives" aimed at a non-academic readership.
