Smith College Students Strike Gender-Specific Terms From Their Constitution
As part of student-government elections last month, Smith College students chose to strike the words "she" and "her" from their constitution and replace them with gender-neutral terms, in an effort to be more inclusive of transgender students.
The newly revised constitution of the student-government association will refer to students at the women's college as "the student" rather than "she," in recognition that at least a few Smith students who are biologically female do not identify
