Singapore Raises Bar for Medical Students
Students who attend the medical school newly set up by Duke University in Singapore will be required to pay the Singaporean government some $380,000 (U.S.) if they do not work at least four years in the country after they graduate.
Students commit to the payment by signing an agreement that recognizes "the substantial subsidies received from Singaporean taxpayers" for their education and training, said government and school officials, and which reflects the high cost of training
