Simon Fraser U. Seeks Investigation of Decision Not to Hire a Technology Skeptic
Amid allegations that administrators at Simon Fraser University blocked the hiring of an outspoken critic of distance education because of his political views, the university announced last month that it had appointed an outside party to conduct an independent review of the process.
In March, a faculty search committee selected David Noble, a professor of history at York University, in Ontario, and a prominent critic of technology, to hold the J. S. Woodsworth Chair in the Humanities.
