Significant Tuition Increase Is Set for N.C. Community Colleges
Last year, some North Carolina politicians suggested making community colleges' tuition free. Wishful thinking, it seems, given that the state budget, passed last month, includes a 33-per-cent increase in their tuition -- about 15 times as high as Gov. James B. Hunt Jr. had recommended.
