Should We Be Alarmed When Women Outnumber Men on Campuses?
To the Editor:
I agree with those contributors to the debate about male enrollments in The Chronicle's online "Colloquy" who urge that the discussion not be constructed as a backlash against the gains of women ("Colleges Look for Ways to Reverse a Decline in Enrollment of Men," November 26). Those gains are much needed and much deserved, and that battle is certainly far from over.
I also agree that it is difficult to talk about the problems of men
