Sharing of Music Files by Students Has Declined Drastically, New Pew Survey Finds

The number of college students who share music files on the Internet has dropped by more than half since last spring, according to a report based on one of the first surveys of downloading since the recording industry began filing copyright-infringement lawsuits in September.

The report, released last week, was put together by the Pew Internet & American Life Project, which analyzes the role of the Internet in American society and culture.
