Sex-Harassment Settlement at Medical School

A student at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine has settled her claims of sex harassment against the school and a professor in return for a $90,000 payment by the institution, The Register-Herald, a newspaper in Beckley, W.Va., reported this morning. In addition to harassment, the lawsuit by the student, Isabella Askari, accused the school of ethnic bias and of not allowing her to pay the less-expensive in-state tuition rate even though she is a resident of Lewisburg, W.Va.
