Serbian Nationalist Resigns as Dean at U. of Belgrade
A controversial dean at the University of Belgrade who was responsible for the ouster of many academics in recent months has resigned his post. It is unclear, however, if his departure signals an easing of the Serbian government's campaign to bring the universities in that Yugoslav republic under tighter central control.
