Senior Professors, Too, Sometimes Need a Helping Hand
I am getting old. I find myself missing colleagues who retire faster than I can turn around, and my department keeps hiring new faculty members who are half my age and have twice the energy. My knees creak when I get up from my office chair, and I secretly ignore institutional issues that have recirculated at least three times during my career.
