Senators Agree on Plan to Increase Student Aid
Senate leaders agreed last week on a resolution calling on Congress to provide generous increases in the amount of federal aid available to college students in fiscal 2000. The full Senate was expected to approve the measure.
A bipartisan group of lawmakers persuaded their fellow Senators to add an amendment to a budget resolution recommending that lawmakers increase the maximum Pell Grant by $400, as well as make large budget
