Senator Grassley Wants IRS to Tailor Form to Colleges

Sen. Charles E. Grassley last week called on officials of the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Treasury Department to develop a Form 990 tax schedule that is specifically geared to colleges and universities.

Senator Grassley, the top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, requested the new tax form during a Capitol Hill briefing on college costs and endowment spending. His proposed form would require institutions to report information about their student populations and
