Senate Panel Approves Budget Increases for Endowments
The Senate Committee on Appropriations last week approved a bill giving the National Endowments for the Arts and the Humanities each $1-million more in fiscal 2000 than they are receiving this year -- far less than President Clinton has proposed and than the agencies have hoped for.
