Senate May Monitor Gifts to Doctors
Drug companies and medical-device manufacturers would be required to publicly report nearly all the money, gifts, and travel they offer doctors, including free continuing medical education, under legislation introduced in the Senate.
The bill was submitted this month by Sen. Charles E. Grassley, an Iowa Republican, and Sen. Herb Kohl, a Wisconsin Democrat.
