Senate Education Panel Asks Delay in Accreditation Proposals
The Senate education committee is urging Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings to hold off on any revisions in accreditation policy.
In a pointed letter sent this month, the committee asked Ms. Spellings to "refrain from proposing new regulations on accreditation" until after it has had a chance to deal with the issue through its reauthorization of the Higher Education Act.
