Senate Confirms New NEH Chairman
Bruce Cole will become the new chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities, following the Senate's quiet approval of his nomination this month.
President Bush's selection of Mr. Cole, a professor of art history at Indiana University at Bloomington, pleased many scholars who hope he will place more emphasis on a traditional curriculum and scholarship than did his predecessor.
