Senate Bill Would Require Drug Companies to Report All Gifts to Doctors

Drug companies and medical-device manufacturers would be required to publicly report nearly all the money, gifts, and travel they offer doctors, including free continuing medical education, under legislation introduced last week in the Senate.

The bill was submitted by Sen. Charles E. Grassley, an Iowa Republican, and Sen. Herb Kohl, a Wisconsin Democrat. It will be taken up by the Senate Finance Committee.
