Seminary May Lease Buildings to Space-Crunched Columbia U.
Union Theological Seminary, in New York City, is in talks with Columbia University to have the space-crunched university lease three of the seminary's 10 buildings and also take over ownership and management of its million-volume Burke Library.
Although the value of the arrangement has not been disclosed, Union's president, the Rev. Joseph C. Hough Jr., said the income would help shrink a $2-million deficit in the seminary's annual budget of $11-million. Since 1999, Union's endowment
