Sea Turtles and the Fight for the Beach
For creatures that are among the world's best-known examples of endangered species, sea turtles remain shrouded in mystery. We still know very little about their life cycles. The piece of the puzzle that we understand best and find easiest to study, turtle nesting, takes place -- in the United States at least -- on some of the most popular and coveted real estate in the country, including the beaches of Florida's east coast.
