Scribblings Bite the Dust

Chalk it up to oversensitivity or chalk it up to common sense, but chalking, at least for the moment, is out of bounds at Wesleyan University.

That's what the president of the Connecticut institution, Douglas J. Bennet, said last month, when he declared an indefinite moratorium on chalkings, the comments that students scribble in chalk on college sidewalks.
