Scottish University Sets Up Archive of Political Songs; Iranian Students Create Web Site of Protest; New Directory Details European Education Networks
A Scottish university says it has set up the world's first center for political songs.
The new archive at Glasgow Caledonian University -- the Centre for Political Song -- includes songs of support for Nelson Mandela, the rallying cries of antislavery campaigners, songs protesting the Polaris missile, and political songs from the world of opera, such as the revolutionary chorus of the slaves from Verdi's Nabucco.
