Scientists Fight to Save Environmental Fellowship Program
The Science to Achieve Results fellowship, the government's only graduate-fellowship program focused on the environmental sciences, is nicknamed STAR, but it will be extinguished within a few years if President Bush has his way.
The president has offered no money for the $10-million fellowship program in the budget for the 2003 fiscal year, and college lobbyists and scientists are trying to save it.
