Scientists Attack the Federal Budget With the Politics of Calculated Panic
Whenever politicians threaten to reduce the federal budget for research and development, leaders of scientific associations and other prominent scientists -- especially those in academe -- predict an imminent scientific doomsday and other national misfortunes.
