Scientists Achieve Tabletop Fusion With Small Laser
Scientists at the University of California's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory have succeeded in producing nuclear fusion in a small, tabletop experiment.
The achievement, described in the April 8 issue of Nature, has nothing to do with cold fusion -- the claim, discredited by scientists a decade ago, that nuclear fusion could be generated in an electrochemical cell at room temperature.
