Scientific Journal Says It Should Not Have Published Paper on Genetically Modified Corn
THE NATURE OF BIAS: Joining a months-long sparring match over genetically engineered corn, an eminent scientific journal has backed itself into a corner.
In an unusual step, Nature announced in an online editorial this month that it should not have published a paper in which the authors claimed to have discovered corn in Mexico contaminated by genetically modified material. The DNA had apparently found its way into the native corn from engineered corn growing nearby, despite a 1998 law
