Scholars Are Shocked by British University's Sale of Historic Mathematics Texts
A British public university has created a furor among scholars and museum executives by secretly selling a valuable collection of historical mathematics texts, including the first three editions of Isaac Newton's Principia Mathematica and The Whetstone of Witte, the first English-language work to use the + and - signs.
