Scholarly Associations Must Face the True Causes of the Academic Job Crisis

Graduate students at the upcoming meeting of the Modern Language Association, to be held in San Francisco at the end of the month, are hoping to move our profession's discussion of the disastrous state of the job market a large step forward. We will be seeking: the inclusion of graduate students on all major M.L.A. governing committees (so that we can participate in shaping M.L.A.
