Scholar Says Pentagon Wants MIT to Hush Up Report on Missile-Defense System
A Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor who is critical of the Defense Department's proposed missile-defense system says the Pentagon is trying to pressure the university to keep him quiet.
The professor, Theodore A. Postol, has for the past year been disseminating a government-commissioned independent report that says that the system would be incapable of differentiating between a warhead and a decoy balloon. The Defense Department, which had declassified the report,
