Sarah Lawrence Drops SAT Requirement
Sarah Lawrence College announced last week that it would no longer require applicants to submit standardized-test scores.
Officials at the New York college said the decision was based on changes in the SAT, specifically the new writing section of the test, that will be introduced in 2005. The college's new policy will take effect next fall.
Thyra Briggs, the college's dean of admission, said the new policy mirrored Sarah Lawrence's emphasis on writing.
