Sacred Heart U. Professors Lose Bid to Unionize
A regional official of the National Labor Relations Board has ruled that professors at Sacred Heart University, a Roman Catholic institution in Connecticut, are managerial employees and, therefore, cannot unionize. The professors announced last month that they would not appeal the decision, which conflicts with recent rulings that have appeared to open the door to faculty unionization at private colleges.
