This sabbatical was his, not mine.
Every seven years, the kindly and thoughtful college where my husband, Tom, works offers him a chance to go away and think. He is encouraged to delve deeper into his own research; to write, travel, and arrive back on the campus refreshed, informed, and eager to share what he has learned. He is paid to do this.
