SUNY's Reviews of Presidents

To the Editor:

On March 5, The Chronicle published an article about recent action by the State University of New York Board of Trustees regarding evaluations of SUNY presidents ("SUNY Board Tightens Rules for Reviewing Campus Presidents"). That story asserts that I take "a dim view of the periodic, team-led evaluations." Not quite right!
