SUNY Issues Call for Proposals to Start Charter Schools
At a time when it's emphasizing new thinking on college curricula, the State University of New York is starting up charter schools, too.
Last week, SUNY put out a call for applications for 50 charters that the state last year authorized it to grant. (New York's Education Department has 50 as well.) Proposals are expected starting this summer, with the SUNY-governed schools to begin opening in the fall of
