SIU President's Plagiarism Is Deemed 'Inadvertent'
A faculty committee at Southern Illinois University has concluded that the president, Glenn Poshard, committed "inadvertent plagiarism" in his doctoral dissertation, but recommended that no penalty be assessed against him.
The report finds "many instances" in the dissertation in which "the words of others are present in a continuous flow with student Poshard's own words, so that readers cannot distinguish between those sources."
