SCT, a Major Supplier of Software for College Administration, Is Sold
A major vendor of administrative software and services to colleges, the SCT Corporation, is being sold for $584-million to SunGard Data Systems, a provider of administrative-information systems to nonprofit institutions.
The sale, announced in December, is the culmination of about six months of negotiations between the two companies' boards of directors and executives.
Spokesmen for SCT, of Malvern, Pa., and SunGard, of Wayne, Pa., said SCT would operate as an independent unit
