Rutgers U. President Declines Call for End of Campus Support to ROTC

Rutgers University's president, Francis L. Lawrence, is not a fan of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gay service members.

Rutgers prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. However, like officials at other colleges that have considered the issue, Mr. Lawrence has concluded that too much is at stake for Rutgers to cut support for its Reserve Officer Training Corps programs.
