Russian Rector Suspended for Iran Ties
Russia's Ministry of Education suspended the outspoken rector of Baltic State Technical University last month, amid U.S. charges that the institution was providing nuclear and missile technologies to students from Iran. The rector, Yury Savelyov, has since been allowed to return to his position.
The St. Petersburg university, which is also known as Voenmekh, announced in 1999 that it had signed a $2.5-million contract with Tehran Technological University,
